2025 Copy Run Bug Details

Note: This bug was fixed in the December 17th 2025 update to IFTDSS.

Description

In December of 2025 a bug was reported that occurred when copying a model run and clicking Save then Run in the same session. The bug modified the original windspeed and direction inputs listed, replacing the values with those from the newer run. Model runs were not affected, but the wind values listed as inputs for the original runs were modified in the right-hand metadata panel, reports, and compare weather.

reigh-hand metadata panels showing that when a run is copied and wind speed and direction are changed, and the save and run buttons are used in a single session, the wind inputs listed in the panel for the original run are overwritten with the new values.

Trigger and Affect

This bug was triggered only if you clicked Save and Run in the same copy session. Clicking only Run, or clicking Save then navigating away and running the model later, did not trigger this bug.

Verifying whether listed inputs are correct

To verify whether listed inputs were modified, you can download the model run and unzip the files. Open the model input file to view the input values used for the model run. Model run input files were not impacted.
