Creating Treatment Groups with Shapes

You may need to create groups from individual shapes in IFTDSS to represent a set of treatments for landscape editing, or other tasks as illustrated below. The following steps will not affect your individual shapes, it will copy them into a new multipart shape, or group.

To create a group of individual shapes:

  1. Navigate to your shapes in Map Studio.
  2. Click the Create/Edit Shapes widgetcreate edit shapes to open it.
  3. Click the Copy from Existing Features Copy from Existing Features button button.

  4. Click the Select multipart option.

  5. Left mouse click your first polygon, you will notice its color turns to yellow. Continue selecting other shapes as needed.
  6. Next, type a name for your polygons in the edit box.
  7. Specify the folder to save in.

  8. Click Create.

  9. Upon completion, you will see a notification at the top of the map and the new shape group will appear. Both the individual units, and your new group, will be available in My Workspace and throughout IFTDSS.
