The FTEM Dashboard displays data recorded in the Fuel Treatment Effectiveness Monitoring (FTEM) application. FTEM documents the effectiveness of interacting treatments on wildfires. It is the system of record for the Department of Agriculture USFS, and the Department of the Interior, United States Wildland Fire Service (USWFS). Treatment data for other land management entities are not currently included.
FTEM records evaluate treatment success in protecting firefighters and the public from wildfire, reducing the loss of structures and investments, and documenting the need to continue with the integrated vegetation management program.
A treatment is considered effective if:

Wildfire behavior changes in a way that was consistent with the original goals (objectives) of the treatment, or
-
The treatment was used for suppression actions, regardless of whether the wildfire entered the treatment.
Note: Both treatment and wildfire data are updated daily Monday through Friday and are compilations are various federal and state reporting systems of record. For more details, see the FTEM Process topic.
