Models Available in IFTDSS

Models Available

Currently the models available in IFTDSS focus on Fire behavior and include:

Fire Modeling Services Framework (FMSF)

The fire behavior models in IFTDSS are run through the Fire Modeling Services Framework (FMSF).

Model inputs and outputs are handled in IFTDSS, and the IFTDSS Help Center still documents the technical specifications of each model and any aspects specfic to IFTDSS, but the model hosting and actual calculations are performed on the FMSF.

Model population, results, and outputs are contained in IFTDSS while the actual model calculation occurs on the FMSF.

What is the FMSF

The Fire Modeling Services Framework (FMSF) provides hosted wildland fire behavior and effects models and tools for use within other systems, such as IFTDSS. This approach improves performance, speeds analysis time, and makes it easier to keep data and methods more consistent.

You can read more about the FSMF on their web page .
